 SEND Support in Central Bedfordshire

 

 

 

If you have a child or young person with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), then think of the Local Offer as all of the services and support available to them and you as a parent or carer. The CBC Local Offer website contains information about education, health and care services, voluntary agencies, leisure activities and support groups.

SEND News Email Alert Service

CBC SEND have launched a new email service for news and information about special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Anyone can sign up to receive fortnightly SEND News emails, which will deliver Latest News updates, useful resources, advice, guidance and support on education, health and social care SEND services available across Central Bedfordshire.

The SEND News emails will also help to promote the SEND Local Offer web pages, which contain information and resources for families, including support for young people, leisure and recreation groups, clubs and activities, money and benefits advice, and information on education, health and wellbeing and care.

The Neurodiversity Support Pack is for families following a diagnosis of a neurodiversity, and contains information, resources and signposting in a variety of media (video's, infographics, animations), split into 14 different sections - from sleep to medication and lots more.

Special Needs Jungle

Special Needs Jungle was started in 2008 by Tania Tirraoro, as a way of preserving the knowledge she had gained successfully navigating the 'jungle' of the statementing system for her first younger, then her older son.

Over the years, it has expanded from a personal blog into a site that is packed with useful information about special educational needs and disability issues faced by children and their parents.
