'Three' Discoveries Workshop
A fantastic learning experience for the children at The Firs!
The children had a fantastic time on Friday, taking part in the workshops organised by Three the Mobile Phone Network Provider.
In Year R they are enjoying taking care of their own caterpillars and so they thought about The Hungry Caterpillar and had great fun with potato printing, using puppets to retell the story, story sequencing activities and feeding the caterpillars!
In Year 1 the children really enjoyed making a digital poster on a theme connected with their senses. They took photos of parts of themselves to match a particular sense.
In Year 2 they worked in pairs to create their own ninety second animation, with each partner creating and controlling their own character as part of the story. The children loved using the technology, were engrossed by the activity and thoroughly enjoyed every second of the experience!
Year 3 used stop motion animation, taking photos of a Lego scene to create separate frames and show a scene. Working within a team, they edited music and text, making their own mini movies!
In Year 4 children thoroughly enjoyed using the App ‘Clips’ on iPads to create their own multimedia presentations about The Romans. They picked up how to use the App so quickly and in just over half an hour had created some fabulous presentations using video, graphics and music!
A huge thank you to Chris Moses, the class teacher in Elm, for facilitating these fantastic learning experiences for the children at The Firs!
